Her work has been in the Austin American Statesman: Sunday, June 7, 1998 and in the Thursday, April 26, 2001 issue as the featured, "Portrait of an Artisan".Austin Woman magazine, June 2003 featured her as one of three local artists to watch and collect. Martin volunteers her time as past President of the Austin Visual Arts Association and is currently President of VU Austin. Under her leadership, both art groups have been instrumental in highlighting Austin's visual arts scene by creating, organizing and promoting "October Visual Arts Month".Martin teaches mixed media and acrylic techniques, art appreciation and "the business of Art" workshops in Texas and Oklahoma.

Several of her series "Spirit of the Land", "Elemental Realities" and"Earth Elements" are featured in the Newmark Homes of Austin tour, March 19,2002. Her "Tuscany" series is featured in the "2004 Parade of Homes Tour" also in Austin.

Martin's love of abstracted figuratives are highlighted in "the Couples" series employing mixed mediaacrylic paint, lace, oriental papers (hand colored), copper leafing and "Women of the World" using watercolor printers ink for each original monoprint.Martin has a background in watercolor and oils but has chosen acrylic, collage and mixed media as preferred media for the past 5 years. The artist now prefers layering techniques: employing colored papers for collage material and basic texture; acrylic paint for washes and backgrounds and prismacolor sticks or pencils for focal interest details.Martin now uses her own French marble paper designs in many abstract collages and Couples paintings.

Projects in 2003-4 include several large commissions and the launching of Martin's Giclee prints. Subjects ranging from Tuscan landscapes to Couples, Women and Nudes; all bold and colorful just like the originals. During this same time, limited edition prints on paper became available from her Ghost Ranch, NM series. These lively watercolor sketches catch the changing light and character of the rock formations so notable in this area. 2004 sees the addition of several mural commissions including one at the Austin School of Faux Finishes and one for the Parade of Homes Tour.
